As one third of the team behind the Hessle Audio label, David Kennedy’s Pearson Sound moniker has become synonymous with cutting edge UK dancefloor music. He’s looking forward, refusing to sit still or be easily categorised. And with his latest productions feeding more from the classic notions of 4×4 dancefloor music and his sets retaining every inch of precision and his selection spreading out further as his knowledge of music grows he has established himself as one of the UK’s most in demand artists.
Having lectured at the Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, released a critically heralded FABRICLIVE compilation and remixed artists like Radiohead, The xx and M.I.A., Kennedy’s also found the time to run the vinyl only club night, Acetate, in Leeds and help ensure that Hessle Audio’s weekly radio show on London’s Rinse FM maintains its role as an essential part of the station’s broadcasting schedule.
Slamming broken beats and a smart sense of rhythm have marked Tessela out from the crowd. Having released a handful of singles on labels including Peverelist’s Punch Drunk records and his own Poly Kicks imprint, the UK producer has now found a home releasing on the legendary R&S Records.
Nathan Gregory Wilkins
In addition to hosting Channeling, a fantastic fortnightly radio show on NTS, with Ivan Smagghe, Nathan is the founder of the revered History Clock label. He has held numerous residencies, including those at Boombox, Electric Stew, and David Lynch’s Paris club Silencio, and he recently started a new monthly with Joe Spurgeon (The Horrors). Nathan and Richard X have teamed up for a new music project, Cowboy Rhythmbox, which was recently signed to Erol Alkan’s Phantasy label.
